Some scary stuff dude. Get this: a low-emission turbocharged diesel engine is in fact, "cleaner" than smoking for thirty minutes!

Blog updates

I just did a check of this thing's pageload logs, and guess what: Southborder/Mulawin's "Ikaw Nga" has surpassed Steve Tyrell and Pheomela Baranda as the most-searched thing here. Gee. Interesting trend.

Oftentimes, the usual suspects are searches for the lyrics of Southborder's "Ikaw Nga" or a downloadable audio file. (Sorry folks, I don't do downloads here. :)

Oui!

I've finished around 10 of 30[!] notecards required for ENGLART/ENGLTWO, and I plan on heading down to La Salle tomorrow to do another ten or so. Hopefully, I'll be able to submit all thirty on the third of November.

As far as my grades go, its looking extremely well, except for a a subject or two. (::cough::linguis::cough::) I also printed out a copy of the action planning worksheet I made for my counselling sessions with Sir Joey back in the third term as I need to set specific goals once again. Without these, I feel lost and without much focus. (Hay... How times change. :)

America Votes

On November 2, Americans will go to perhaps the most polarizing election in recent history. I pray that this country votes for the correct person, having seen how omnipotent the influence of American policy is on other countries, even to ours.

I pray for their enlightenment. That they may not only think about themselves, but that America already has become a country that is a part of global geopolitics, and with that, the responsibility it entails. I could only hope that they take the initiative in things that truly matter--the environment, terrorism, the economy, science. To make peace. To avoid invading countries on a whim and because of an almost fanatical, jingoistic desire to "leave a leagacy". Wars are not waged for egotistical reasons, let alone differing moral standards.

I shall speak of this thing no more. May wisdom prevail on the second of November.

I'm back!

After almost two weeks of no activity, for some reason, I finally gotten the initiative to log into Blogger and post something. Mwehehe.

Anyway, here goes...

La Salle Thought of the Day: Did you know that De La Salle University, one of the most prestigious universities in the country today, was initially only open for young men only? This men-only nature gave rise to the word "Lasallite", a word used to describe its male-only population of students, which was then subsequently changed to "Lasallian" to reflect the sweeping changes happening within the Institution: a step-up from a college to a full-fledged University, and the entry of women into its halls. ("Lasallian" is said to be a gender-neutral term than "Lasallite", thus the change.)

From thereon, DLSU's female population rose to about equal to that of its men, although lately, trends indicate that among students, the number of women have surpassed those of men. Because of this, some have already begun joking that DLSU's student population will be female-dominated sooner rather than later, a far cry from several decades ago.

Love. Less.

Wow.

What a surprise.

I'm still looking.

Looking.

Looking.

And looking. [Cue John Mayer's "Love Song for No One"]

I can't seem to find the worthwhile one, to be honest. Sigh. Sometimes, I really am envious of those who are in a relationship.

Pucha. So much for that! Gotta get on with my life.

I had the strangest of dreams last night.

I was in this building, and I was with my mum and my tita Jo. And I was with this young lady I kept referring to as "honey". (Yikes. :-)

For the record, this is the second time this occured to me. In a span of a year. And *that* is really strange, as I haven't dreamt of any female specie before. The first time it occurred to me, I was left with no visual recollection of the entire thing. But this one was more vivid, and I actually found myself wide awake at 3 AM after dreaming, with lots of details from the dream in my memory. I was getting my bearings after I awoke when I realized that it was indeed a dream.

The weirder part of it was, despite already avoiding liking women with strong
chinita features, this woman I called "honey" possessed strong chinita-esque facial features, moderate-to-slim build, quite petite and shoulder-length hair. In other words, yes, pretty. :-D

It was really freaky, crazy even. I really never had dreams with anybody named honey before. ::lol::

There must be something going on subconsciously in the back of my head. Mental processes gone awry, perhaps? Heh, I don't know. :-D

I applied for the University Museum Docent Training Program.

Sana makuha ako.

do·cent n.
  1. A teacher or lecturer at some universities who is not a regular faculty member.
  2. A lecturer or tour guide in a museum or cathedral.
Museums. I find them interesting places, you know.

I remember once when I went to spend an entire afternoon alone in Ayala Museum, examining every nuance and detail of the dioramas and staring at the paintings (especially the ones by Amorsolo) all by myself. It was bliss. No nagging parents nor impatient and noisy siblings.

Although one thing I'm concerned about is my CGPA and other requirements they had asked. Sometimes, these tend to be my weakest link as a student, although I'm working on improving those.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

After a loooooooooooooong time...

I'm back! :-)

Nyarharhar.

It's kinda late, but here goes:

The Archers (and in particular, JV Casio) kicked serious arse! Araneta will never be the same again when these two universities are playing for "who's greener." Hahah. I can even recall TLS A&G's funney posters on SJ.

I watched the game at Araneta all by myself, with a General Admission ticket. Before I got there, I really thought a genad ticket sucked, as people kept on complaining how far it was from the action. But no, it didn't. In fact, I liked the view from up there. I did have a good periperal view of the people, from my fellow Lasallians to the, ugh, FEUians[?] (okay, let's call them Tamaraws fans. :) and of course, of the game itself. "D - L - S - U! Animo La Salle!", I could still imagine shouting at the top of my voice, complete with the hand gestures. Hahah. Masaya talaga.

(Ako na siguro yung pinakamalakas mag-cheer sa la salle side ng genad. :D

The game was gripping really, especially during the last couple of seconds, when the Archers' 10 point lead was demolished by the Tams. Casio was really a lifesaver. If not for that three, the game could've been extended to overtime, or worse, our Archers taking second place.

But no. It did not. Fate played a nice game that day. Destiny? Maybe.

Until then, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Sims 2 rocks. Really.

Pucha. I need a life. A real one. :-)

Complete with all the dramatics.

As its still under work, I'll be temporarily doing all the flirting, arguing, fighting, kissing and woohooing in the Sims.

Seriously though, at 1.0, TS2 isn't exactly running up to my standards of a well-coded game. It kind of tends to get slow when the game speed is notched to fastest, and the graphics, while perty and all, still tends to slow down occasionally. And this is on a Radeon 9800 Pro, a card that is still fairly capable of churning out pixels rapidly.

Wait. Maybe memory. Or my CPU. Is it time to go 1Gig and AMD64?

Oh no. The upgrade itch! Argh...

Got... to... re... sist...
